Copy Cats: An Introduction
This is a slot which I have had to review a lot recently. This is fine, because I absolutely love Copy Cats. I should probably confess here that I am more of a dog fan, but I can see the appeal in cats. I reckon most of the people who are going to be booting up this game are cat lovers. It is probably not going to appeal to everybody, but you should probably check it out anyway. I reckon it is fun, at least!
This slot was first released in May 2017. It is a video slot which offers 5 reels and 25 paylines. The house edge for Copy Cats is a bit higher than most other NetEnt slots. It comes in at 3.88%. Not as high as some of the other non-NetEnt slots, but this is something which genuinely surprised me. The game makes up for this by having a low volatility.
To get started on Copy Cats, you will need to be spending a minimum of 25p per spin. If you are a high roller, then you will be knocking out £125 per spin, although we can’t imagine that many of the people this game has been designed to appeal to will be spending that much.
Theme of the Game
The theme of the game, as you have probably guessed from the name, is cats. Plenty of them. These are cute-looking cats too. Think along the lines of ‘Garfield-style’ (probably the best way to describe it). There is plenty of colour and the game is going to be very appealing on the eye. Yes. I know, if you hate cats then this is probably not going to be the best-themed slot in the world for you. However, I still urge you to check it out. It is a simplistic slot, but it is still fun.
I can’t say much for the sound of the game. I tend to turn it off quickly when I am playing. I do this with most slots, though.
The best way to get the most out of the theme of the game is to play it on a mobile device. As with most of the other games that NetEnt has pumped out over the past few years; they have been designed to be played on mobile devices. This is where the real money is to be made in the game industry nowadays. It looks really colourful when given a little bit of a boost by the retain display that your phone or tablet computer boasts.
Copy Cats Slot Features
It is evident that the features of this game have been designed for new players. There is nothing here which is going to excite some of the more experienced players of slots, which is a bit of a shame.
The golden kitty in Copy Cats is going to be your wild. As with most other wilds in just about every other video slot in the world, it acts as a replacement symbol for other symbols in the game. It does not do much beyond that. It would have been nice if it acted as a multiplier, but I guess you can’t have everything that you want in life, right?
The game name is based around the ‘Copy Cats’ slot feature. When you play, you will notice that there are four different cats. They are the highest paying symbols in the game. These cats come stacked on the first reel. If you get a full stack on the first reel, then every other cat in the game is going to copy that. You then get a spin with a ‘copy cat’ in place. No, this is not going to be a free spin which is a shame. You are not going to be winning too much using this feature unless you get a stacked wild, but it is nice anyway.
I will not lie to you here; Copy Cats is not the greatest slot in the world. In fact, it is pretty basic. However, the low volatility makes it a fun game to play if you want a couple of free spins here and there. Do not expect too much from it, however. Play at Madame Chance or Grand Ivy Casino.
