Disco Spins: Introduction
I have reviewed a lot of Grand Ivy Casino slot games over the years. One slot which never really seems to get talked about that much, however, is Disco Spins. I can see why. It does not bring anything new to the table and the theme of the game does not stand out that much. However, I was determined to give it a go. I had a lot more fun than I expected to too. Let me tell you about my experience in this Disco Spins review.
This slot is one of the oldest slots from NetEnt. In fact, it is probably one of the oldest mobile slots that is still regularly played today. Disco Spins was released in June 2013. This means that it is four years old. This also means that the mobile version of the game is probably not going to be as smooth as some of the latest offerings from NetEnt although, to be honest with you, it still plays pretty ell.
There are five reels and 20 paylines on this slot. The house edge is 3.6%. It is a low to medium volatility slot.
The minimum buy-in is going to be 20p. The maximum is £200. This is assuming that you are betting on all the paylines, but you would be stupid not to!
Disco Spins Slot Theme
This is where the game does not stand out that much. Obviously, it is clear what NetEnt was trying to do with the Disco Spins game. This was to design a game that offered a bit of 70s nostalgia…sort of. All of the characters in the game are disco dancers with some cool hair and some outfits. They are cartoon characters. Sure, I guess they look OK, but I do know that NetEnt could do so much better when it comes to the design of their slots. That being said, you can’t really complain too much about them here. This was one of the first mobile slots they ever created and they probably could not go overboard in terms of graphics. Remember; mobile devices which could cater to games like this had only just started to become popular. NetEnt probably did not want to spend a ton of cash on something which may not have given them a return on their investment.
In terms of the sound, the music is awesome. I have found myself bopping along to it on more than one occasion.
You actually have a surprising number of features In Disco Spins. All of them are enjoyable when they pop up too. These features include:
- Wild Symbols: probably the main reason why people play this game. The disco dancers could potentially change colour when you play. If they do, this will make them a wild. It is tough to describe this feature in words, so it is something that you will likely wish to experience yourself.
- Scatters and Free Spins. If you get three or more of the disco ball scatters, then you will trigger the free spins mode. You will then have the opportunity to choose one or two different free spins modes.
- Regular Free Spins: with this free spins mode, you will get 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier. There is a good chance that you will hit some of the largest wins too, although most of the wins will be small. 15 free spins is a lot, though!
- Disco Free Spins: 10 free spins here. No multiplier. However, the game will remove most of the symbols from the reels. Only the disco dancers will be left in place. This means that this is the mode to play if you want some of the largest wins in the game. The chances of winning in this free spins mode are smaller, but the size of the wins should more than make up for this.
Is Disco Spins Recommended?
Yes! 100% yes! This game is a ton of fun to play. It is a shame that many people do not talk about Disco Spins because I really love the way in which NetEnt have designed the free spins mode. It is worth checking out. I promise you of that, even if it is a high volatility slot.
