Playing Football: Champions Cup at Grand Ivy Casino

    Football: Champions Cup Introduction

Football: Champions Cup is a bit of a weird slot machine on a theming level. If you know NetEnt, then you will know that this was a slot that was released to cash in on the European Championship back in 2016. However, they did not secure the licence for the European Championship, which means you would never really be able to tell. It is just a football-themed slot. It is a fun one, but don’t expect anything too crazy here.

This slot was released in May 2016 and playable at Grand Ivy Casino. It offers 5 reels and 20 paylines. The house edge is 3.18%. The minimum bet per spin is 20p. The maximum is £100. This is a medium volatility slot.

Anybody who regularly reads my reviews will know that I tend to have an issue with medium volatility slot. This is because it is tough to predict how the game is going to go. If you are going to be playing Football Champions Cup, then I suggest that you start by gambling at the lower end of the market. If you start to rack up a few wins, then you can up your bet and see what happens from there. I would never in a million years start with a higher bet on a slot like this because I have no idea whether I am going to come up trumps or not.

    The Theme of the Game

As I mentioned previously; this slot is all about football. While it was launched around the European Championships, you would never be able to tell.

As is traditional with NetEnt slots nowadays, the features of the game tie into the theme of the game. This is something I like. Now, I won’t lie to you here; the features that you encounter in Football Champions Cup are nothing that you will not have encountered before. Those types of features are reserved for the ‘main’ slots from NetEnt, but they are dressed up in such a way that they are unique enough so I really do not have that many complaints here if I am completely honest with you.

    Football: Champions Cup Features

Your wild is the football symbol. It replaces all of the other symbols on the screen bar the bonus. In some cases, you may also get a wild overlay. This occurs randomly. During a spin, up to five football wilds will jump onto the screen and become a bit of an overlay. You do not win much with this feature. In fact, I don’t think I have won with this feature much at all, but it is still nice to have in place anyway.

The second feature is the bonus game. As with all other slots, if you want to trigger this feature then you will need to get 3 or more bonus symbols on the reels. You then pick and choose from targets on the screen. You choose four locations. If the penalty is not saved, then you get some cash. You then have the opportunity to save the penalties too using the same method. There are five rounds of this. Some people may claim that it is a feature which is a bit on the boring side of things, but I can’t complain too much about it. It is still a nice enough feature and it gave me some extra cash in my pocket.

It is worth pointing out that the multipliers in this feature will change if you trigger the feature with more bonus symbols.

3 scatters will give you the bonus round. You get four rounds each with six spins. Bit of a unique feature this one, so I will tell you to go and discover it yourself. If you play your cards right (well, if you get lucky, at least). You should end up with at least 30x your initial bet which is a substantial amount.

I know that the Football Champions Cup game is not going to be for everybody. That is fine. However, if you fancy yourself with a bit of football, then I urge you to check out the game anyway. It is a tremendous amount of fun to play. You may even win some cash!
