Fruit Spin: Introduction
It has always baffled me just how many fruit-themed slots that NetEnt has. Yeah. I get it. Fruit machines. But seriously, why so many? That being said, I can’t really complain all that much. NetEnt has proven time and time again that they know how to put together a rather epic slot. Does Fruit Spin fall into that group? Well, that is what I am going to look at here!
This was first released in June 2017. This means at the time of review, Fruit Spin has only been out a couple of months. It is a medium volatility slot which offers 5 reels and 40 paylines. The minimum bet per spin is 20p. The maximum is £200. The house edge is a shade under 3%.
I tried Fruit Spin at Madame Chance Casino and as always, when it comes to playing strategy, it is tough to recommend how you approach this lot. Your best bet is to go for something that you are comfortable with. You won’t blow through your bank roll too quickly if you are careful, but you still want to ensure that you get a decent number of spins. My bank roll is around £50 most days, which means I tend to bet towards the 20p mark to play it safe. However, with a bank roll like this, you could probably afford to go a little bit higher than that.
Fruit Spin Slot Theme
Fruits and plenty of them. Before I wrote this review, I did read a few other reviews of Fruit Spin online. This is because I wanted to get a feel for what other reviewers thought of the game. Most people were not overly impressed with the design. Honestly, I was not either. It does not look brilliant. It is clearly a project that they had the intern artist working on. You would think that this game was designed back in 2013 as opposed to 2017. That being said, there are plenty of features in the slot which will more than make up for it, but you probably should be aware that this is not going to look nice on your eyes by any stretch of the imagination.
The problem with this is the fact that there are just so many damn slots out there which have fruits at the heart of them. Too many of them. You can’t really spice up those games too much, so what we saw in Fruit Spin was relatively ‘old hat’. Bit of a shame, to be honest.
This slot does look decent on mobile devices. I can’t really give NetEnt too much credit here, though. This is something which they have been doing for a while. You can always expect their games to look brilliant on mobile devices.
Thankfully, the game has somewhat of a saving grace in the wealth of features that Fruit Spin offers. This includes:
Your stacked symbols. All of the symbols that you find in Fruit Spin are stacked. The only exception to this is the wild and the scatter. This means that it should not be that difficult to score some of the bigger wins in the game, which is something that I absolutely love!
In addition to this, you have scatter symbols (also can be stacked) which can award free spins. Well, you will not get the free spins directly. Instead, you will get the opportunity to spin a lucky wheel which will then either award you instant cash wins or free spins. In fact, sometimes you get both! You can win up to eight free spins and this does come up quite often. Sadly, there is no multiplier in place with them.
The problem is that for a simple slot, the way in which you trigger the free spins is needlessly complicated. You will really need to dive into the game to see what I mean here. This slot is really not going to be for the ‘beginners’, if I am completely honest with you.
Fruit Spin: Closing Thoughts
Fruit Spin is alright. It is not an amazingly fun game, but if you are looking for a NetEnt slot which offers something a bit different, you can always check it out. You may have a ton of fun playing it too.
